How I started

As a little girl growing up in New York, my brothers and I looked forward to our summer break at my late Uncle Roger’s house and family in the New Jersey suburbs. One of my fondest memories was watching Uncle Roger make his famous homemade ice cream every Memorial Day weekend. He loved entertaining just as much as I. Uncle Roger was gracious enough to share his secret Kowosòl recipe with me years ago. I felt so privileged, I decided to carry his legacy and offer this delicacy to my friends and family. Consequently, I have been making kowosòl ice cream ever since, as well as other unique flavors. Due to the overwhelming positive feedback on the various flavors, I decided to make Uncle Roger proud by offering these Taste of Haiti treats in your home for you and your family to enjoy.

Kowosol is a popular Haitian fruit, it is also called Soursop in the Caribbean and Guanabana in Spanish. It is known as a “Miracle Fruit” in many Caribbean islands. It is also used for its many health benefits. It is loaded with vitamins B and C, it is used as an anti-inflammatory/anti-hypertensive, a mild sedative, alleviates eczema/poisonous reactions and many more.

It is my pleasure to share this “gift” from my Uncle Roger and keep his legacy going. I hope you enjoy it as much as my family and me.
