How It All Got Started
Sabine's Hot Sauce started decades ago from the joy of cooking and wanting my own Caribbean marinade for meats, soups, rice, etc. I wanted a pepper sauce that was full of flavor, not one for the sake of heat alone and filled with artificial ingredients. I decided to use a traditional West Indian pepper sauce recipe, one every Caribbean household had in their refrigerator. I then added "Sabine's special ingredients and flavor" to spice it up! This new and improved hot sauce was made for years and stored in the refrigerator in empty plastic condiment bottles.
In the Fall of 2015, a friend asked me to make 200 bottles as client holiday gifts. I was hesitant at first never making that quantity all at once, however, I took on the challenge. With the help of my children and family, we were able to turn our home kitchen into a production line. By December of 2015, I made 500 bottles as gifts. By the Spring of 2016, a total of 800 bottles of Sabine's Hot Sauce was made in the kitchens friends, families, and clients. In March 2019 the official social media "Sabine's Hot Sauce" Pages were launched and preorders for sale were open for business.
My mission for Sabine’s Hot Sauce is to turn my longtime passion for homemade cooking into an opportunity to directly assist the natives of Haiti, my birth home, with jobs, food, financial well-being, and health services.
